Mural by Lisa Marie
Celebrated for her vibrant and uplifting murals, Lisa Marie Thalhammer brings her signature complementary color style to our “This Is Who We Are” mural, created in honor of this year’s World Pride celebration. Representing all the continents of the globe through her dynamic color pairings, the mural visually embodies the unity and diversity of our whole human family. In keeping with
her series of city-wide murals for this year’s festivities, Thalhammer thoughtfully incorporates the colors of the Progressive Pride flag, further emphasizing the celebration of inclusivity and belonging at the heart of World Pride.
Lisa Marie Thalhammer is an award-winning visual artist, LGBTQ activist, and the Creative Director of Lisa Marie Studio. Her work vibrantly conveys inspirational imagery and harmonious rainbow spectrums, powerfully communicating messages of persistence, equity, and love. Employing an array of mediums including paper, canvas, and mural walls, her artistic practice is consistently driven by an intention to uplift and empower. Born and raised in the American heartland of St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa Marie studied fine art at the Art Institute of Chicago and University of Kansas before moving to Washington D.C., where she has painted more than a dozen murals, including “The LOVE Mural”—among the
most famous and photographed murals in D.C. for its iconic message of unity.
